　　启明星双语学校很高兴地宣布丹尼尔·威廉姆斯将于2019年7月份起出任启明星中学部校长一职。

　　Daystar Academy is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Daniel Williams, as Middle School and High School Principal starting July 2019.

　　威廉姆斯先生目前任职于苏州新加坡国际学校中学部教学副校长。2010年至2016年，他曾在苏州德威国际高中担任 A-Level课程校长。

　　Mr. Williams is currently the Secondary School Vice Principal of Academics at Suzhou Singapore International School. From 2010 to 2016, Grant served as the Head of Section A-Levels at Dulwich International High School, Suzhou High School.

　　威廉姆斯先生以优异的成绩获得曼彻斯特大学的物理学士学位(荣誉)以及数字技术通信与教育专业硕士学位, 伦敦大学学院(UCL)应用教育领导力和管理专业硕士学位，以及IBO国际文凭组织颁发的领导力研究高级证书。目前威廉姆斯先生在继续深造巴斯大学的教育学博士学位，预计将于2021年完成。

　　Mr. Williams’ educational credentials includes a Bachelor of Science (with Honors) in Physics, Master of Arts in Digital Technologies Communication and Education from University of Manchester, Master of Arts in Applied Educational Leadership and Management from UCL-Institute of Education, and he is currently working on his Doctorate in Education from University of Bath (expected completion 2021).

　　在2017年和2018年，领导苏州新加坡国际学校在国际文凭组织大学预科项目考试中取得了突破性的成绩，连续两年的平均分比过往15年的成绩均高出2个分值。

　　Led SSIS to record breaking examination success for IBDP in 2017 and 2018. Both years’ average was increased by 2 full points than the previous 15 years’ results.

　　将苏州新加坡国际学校IBDP国际文凭大学预科项目的通过率提升至100%， 排名前10%的学生成绩平均分为43分，其中更是有两个45分的满分。在非选择性录取的招生政策下，学生们能取得这样的成绩是非常了不起的。

　　Implemented systemic processes that helped raise IBDP pass rate to 100%, top 10% average of 43 and two perfect scores of 45, with a non-selective admissions policy (a remarkable achievement by students).

　　改革改进了大学申请辅项目和支持项目，大大提高了学校对学生的支持力度，更有力地促使学生能够进入最适合他们的首选大学。

　　Overhauled the College Counseling processes and support provisions, to enhance the school’s and students’ ability to consistently place students at their best fit, first choice colleges.

　　在苏州竞争激烈、外籍家庭缩小的市场环境中，仍然帮助学校实现了入学人数10%的增长。

　　Contributed to 10% rise in enrolments in a highly competitive shrinking expatriate market in Suzhou.

　　在当地社区开展了诸多活动，使学生有机会参与服务活动。

　　Established many initiatives in the local community for students to participate in service activities.

　　Mr. Williams’ believes it is imperative that we cultivate students who recognize their common humanity, understand we have a responsibility of shared guardianship of the planet and ultimately, help establish a more peaceful world for all the inhabitants of the earth.

　　他称自己为“合作共建主义者”，并且认为探究式学习可以最好地帮助学生和我们更好地开创未来。合作共建要求我们这些教育工作者和领导者们保障学生在学习中的核心地位;教室应该支持和鼓励学生提出问题，设定具有挑战性的目标，追求个人抱负，并培养坚持不懈的品质，从而实现目标。

　　He calls himself a “co-constructivist” and believes learning through inquiry best support our students for the needs of their and our future. Co-constructivism requires educators and leaders like him to ensure that the student is at the center of learning; teachers should encourage and support students to ask questions, set challenging goals, pursue personal aspirations and develop the persistence to achieve them.

　　He believes that the most appropriate curriculum for students to prepare them for rigorous university entrance and the ability to become life-long, empathetic and critical learners is the IB Continuum.
